WHAT IS IT ?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication – RSS 2.0) is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated digital content, such as blogs, news feeds or podcasts. The user subscribes to a feed by entering a link to the feed into the reader program. The reader can then check the user's subscribed feeds to see if any of those feeds have new content since the last time it checked, and if so, retrieve that content and present it to the user. Different RSS feeds are available on Dissidenz to be kept uptodate about the latest picks of the week, blogs, DVD subscriptions etc. Those RSS feeds can be displayed on your computer via an RSS reader or even on your own blog or website.

HOW DOES IT WORK ?

An alternative to downloading a dedicated news reader is to use a Web-based news reader. For example, My Yahoo!, Google, Netvibes.. users can now add RSS feeds directly to their personal page.
